Ipswich BC Foxhall Cross Youth - Round Two result
Sam Connolley was the only maldon rider is this the 2nd event of the eastern cyclo cross league.
Sam did an excellent ride to finish
2nd in only his second attempt at this kind of racing.

League.
In dreadful conditions of mud and non
stop rain he came from behind on the
final lap to win by 30 seconds.

Sue, George, and Gary wood plus
Sam Connolley all rode this event.

George won the under 14’s
beating several under 16’s and Sam
was 3rd in the under 16’s, which
breaks his perfect run of 2nd places.
Gary was 13th of the veteran men
and Sue 2nd of the women.
As a club Maldon currently lie 3rd on
Points average. Of the individuals
for points average George leads
the U14’s, Sam is 2nd U16, Sue is
2nd of the women and Gary is we
think 25th in the vets.

Inter Regional Cyclo-Cross Team Championships
2nd Nov 2008
Youth Race
Sam Connolley (24th) had a good ride in this race and was contesting 15th on the final lap when a Welsh lad fell in front of him and brought Sam down, by the time Sam got his bike sorted out and back to speed he’d lost 8 places which was very unfortunate, it cost the Eastern team 4th place, dropping them to 6th. I think everybody had a really difficult time, also credit to George Wood (59th )for keeping at it in what were swamp like conditions.
Woman's Race
Well done to Sue Wood who came in 7th to help the woman eastern region team take 1st team.
Men's Vet Race
Gary Wood was the only rider in this event and kept on in the difficult conditions and came in 50th place.
