Welwyn Track 25/4/08

George Wood came 1st in 4 lap scratch race and again 1st in the devil and 9th in the 4 lap handicap

There were only 12 in George Woods omnium, but he was lucky to have this bonus whilst still learning.
event 1 1km TT = 8th (1:49:20)
event 2 6km points = 6th ( but didn't scrape any points)
event 3 devil = 6th
event 4 1 lap sprint (match b from TT 3rd ) = overall 7th
event 5 6km scratch = 7th

Overall he is now 7th ( the top 8 in age A and B cat go through to final at Manchester in August, after 3 more omnium’s (best 3 to count) )

final, but this has shown us for a first effort he

The youth A's only had 1 rider, so all events were a+b and George beat A rider twice !

With 4 fridays left George is now 3rd, but gaining fast with 8 points gained this week 2nd has 49 points and 1st has 61 ,but is away for 2 weeks ! so it looks like a tight finish
