About Go-RideThe club has been registered to British Cycling's Go-Ride scheme since 2005 and in 2007 achieved Club Mark Accreditation from Sport England. For those not familiar with the scheme, it provides an introduction to the sport of Cycling to young people and because the activities are held on traffic-free areas such as school playing fields and parks, the scheme can be offered to children as young as 6 years old up to 16 years old. At present the club runs Go-Ride sessions (from April to the end of September at the Plume School) during school holidays in Fe bruary, April, May and August a part of Maldon and District Council's 'Get Active' programme. We also run various sessions of our own during the course of the year in conjunction with various sporting events held in our region, which will be announced here as and when dates are finalised. The Club currently has 5 British Cycling coaches qualified to deliver these sessions and as well as the sessions mentioned above, we are also able to visit local schools to deliver sessions during or out of school hours. Anyone interested in attending one of our sessions or any schools or groups who are interested in the club delivering sessions to them should contact the Club's Lead Coach, Darren Steward (contact details below) to discuss further. In addition to Go-Ride facilities, the Club also has 2 Instructors qualified to deliver Cycling Proficiency to local schools in the Maldon area and any schools interested in this should again contact the Lead Coach to discuss further.
