The two club riders representing the Maldon on the track in 2008 were George Wood and Sam Connolley who raced regularly in the track league at Welwyn, other open events and George Wood participated in the National Youth Omnium Series to try and qualify for the National Final. In order to do this he needed to finish in the top 8 overall in the National Omnium Series but eventually missed out, finishing approximately 13th but did the Maldon proud by representing the club at velodromes around the country.
